Optimum Health and Fitness Centre (Pty) Ltd provides occupational health services to companies and individual workers in Welkom and the wider Free State.
We combine role-relevant medical assessments, specialist screening and clear communication to support informed fitness-for-work decisions. Our work is guided by each employee’s occupation and exposure profile.
We welcome walk-ins at our Welkom clinic and offer on-site assessments at clients’ workplaces by advance booking. We serve Welkom, Theunissen, Hennenman and the wider Free State.

Message from the Founder
Anna Ntsepase Shai founded Optimum Health and Fitness Centre to bring dependable occupational health services closer to workers and employers in the Free State.
She has 18 years of professional experience and has worked in the mining industry as an Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner.
Anna holds an Advanced University Diploma in Occupational Health Nursing from the University of the Free State. She is registered with the South African Nursing Council and is a member of the South African Society of Occupational Health Nurses (SASOHN).
She is also a Professional Nurse and Midwife, with valuable experience across primary healthcare and hospital settings.

Mapomsi Msindisi Mdlovu
Coordinates clinic operations, employer relationships and appointment planning, helping the team provide an organised and responsive service.
Referral pathway
Our referral pathway includes occupational medical practitioners, diagnostic services, hospitals, laboratories and multidisciplinary providers.
